A Little About Me…

For as long as I can remember, I have always loved books. Reading has long been an escape for me. I’ll read just about anything, but my favorite stories are the ones that can transport me to a different time and place. I also love learning. I don’t think we are ever too old or too smart to learn something new. This is why I love writing historical fiction.

What can you expect in my books? First, a Christian message. You see, the Book that inspires me the very most is God’s Word. It is filled with adventurous (and historical!) stories of brave men and women, packed with advice and wisdom for godly living, and contains the most beautiful and powerful message of redemption you could ever imagine! I can’t go a single day without reading it! My books also have characters who are relatable and a lot of fun. If you know me, you know I love to laugh. I hope my stories will bring a smile to your face. My characters face big issues, because I don’t stray from tough subjects. However, these big issues serve to strengthen and lead my characters closer to the Lord. Each and every one of my stories are inspired by the Lord, and I seek His direction every time I sit down to write. I’m amazed at just how well He leads when we give Him control!

How did I get here? The road sure hasn’t been easy! I spent years teaching music in a variety of schools. It was a lot of fun, but I never felt like I was doing the right thing. It was during these years that I felt God leading me into writing. I began writing my first story, sitting up alone at night trying to write a chapter here and there whenever I could keep my eyes open! Eventually, God opened new doors and made a way for me to stop working full-time. Since then, I’ve worked on my stories while homeschooling my children and working part-time for my incredible church.

God has blessed me with an incredible family. My husband, Chris, has been my biggest supporter and encourages me to do whatever needs to be done to see these books in print. Our three children inspire me daily and keep me busy! We live in the Daytona Beach, Florida area, and our favorite thing about where we live is watching rocket launches from nearby Cape Canaveral. If I’m not writing, I am probably reading, cooking, or crafting!
